Short updates on what I've been working on.
I added an admin dashboard that only I can access. It shows the checks people run so I can see how Optimal is being used and find its mistakes. I also updated the Terms of Service to explain this.
The score now focuses on humanizer signs, and sometimes uses Optimal's AI to score the text if the text uses obvious stiff phrases. Overall, grading is more accurate.
I added two guides to the site. The first explains how to tell if an essay was run through a humanizer, and the second uses my test results to discuss whether humanizers actually work. Both can be found on the Guides page, which is linked at the bottom of every page.
Users with an account can now check up to 2,500 words at once. Users without an account can still check up to 1,000 words.
I took the Reads like AI score off the results because this website isn't meant for plain AI detecting.
Before, if you did not have an account you only got 5 free credits total. Now you get 5 free credits back every day. Accounts still get 10 a day.
The User Count page now shows how many different people visited this month, and that number starts over every month. The all-time count still never resets. I also made it stop counting bots, and took off the accounts and saved checks numbers.
Optimal is finally online at getoptimal.net. I also redid the About page. It has my picture now, an explanation of why I made Optimal, and a way to contact me.
Added a page that shows how accurate Optimal actually is. I tested it on five humanizers and on fifty pieces of writing from different chatbots. It caught all five humanizers but only some of the plain AI writing, and it didn't catch any of the AI-written stories. I still decided to post the numbers because I think people should know that before they trust a detector.
I stopped working on the video maker since the free AI video tools just weren't good enough. Now Optimal checks if text was run through an AI humanizer, which most AI detectors miss. It looks for hidden characters, fake letters from other alphabets, and spun phrases, and highlights whatever it finds.
Wrote a Terms of Service page and went through the site to fix up the wording. I also added a way to delete your account in Settings, because the privacy section says you can do that.
Found out people could fake their IP address to keep getting free credits, so now the site only trusts the real address. I also fixed logins not carrying over between the subdomains.
You can sign up with an email, Google, or Microsoft now, and I added Cloudflare's bot check to the signup page. Without an account you get 5 free credits. With one you get 10 a day.
First working version. You typed in an idea and Optimal split it into scenes, each with its own colors, text, and effect. It didn't make an actual video yet, just the plan.
